The Isle of Bute is just 35mins by ferry from Wemyss Bay
on the mainland. A regular train service runs from
Glasgow Central Station to the ferry terminal.
There is also access to and from Bute at the north end
of the island at the Rhubodach - Colintraive ferry crossing.
This is probably one the shortest ferry routes in
Scotland at barely 5 minutes.


Once on the island at Rothesay, Roseland Lodge Park is a few minutes
drive from the ferry. You can either take the spectacular scenic route
up the zig-zag Serpentine Road or the slightly longer route via Ministers Brae and Roslin Road (coloured yellow on the map).
