Roseland is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Canada Hill above the town of Rothesay. There are outstanding views of the bay and the hills and sea lochs of the Cowal peninsula. We are the only official campsite on the island and are conveniently situated for all the facilities that Rothesay has to offer.
Facilities
Roseland has 20 touring pitches plus 50 static pitches.
(Some of the static pitches are available for hire)
We have showers, a dish washing area, chemical disposal toilets, a public telephone, bottle banks and electric hook up points.
Dogs are welcome (please keep them on a lead and clean up after them).
If you fancy a round of golf then you can walk to the first tee, as we are adjacent to the fabulous Rothesay Golf course.
If fishing is your game then why not try Loch Fad which is a 5 min drive away.
Alternatively Bute has breathtaking scenery and beaches to explore plus the amazing grandeur of Mount Stuart House, the ancestral home of the Marquess of Bute.

The Isle of Bute lies in Scotland’s Firth of Clyde, tucked into the spectacular sea lochs of southern Argyll. 15 miles long by approximately 4 miles wide Bute is less than two hours from the city of Glasgow. The island was a popular Victorian seaside destination, when the main town of Rothesay would be bustling with trippers who had come “doon the watter” during the Glasgow Fair and disembarked from the many steamers that sailed the Clyde. The Paddle Steamer Waverley is the only traditional vessel cruising the Firth nowadays, and it still proves a very popular attraction with a busy summer schedule of routes between Bute, Arran and the mainland.
